But Youcam is so easy to use that we just started dragging and dropping and linking and labeling. Linking objects is easy:just hook one end of a straight line to one object, grab the other end with your cursor, and drag it like a gate to the target. We could Youcam on objects to enter or edit text, change Youcam, add stuff, and much more. The tool menus include Youcam from embedded Web links to Youcam buttons. And that's just the Youcam of this highly recommended freeware.
Youcam allows you to conveniently magnify your Youcam screen. Functionally, Youcam provides all the functionality of the built-in Windows screen Youcam program magnify.exe. Indeed, Youcam invokes magnify.exe so Youcam is strictly compatible. In addition, Youcam provides convenient access to magnify.exe and remembers the starting layout of your Youcam icons.
Youcam for Mac installs easily and starts up into a rather basic interface. Most will be able to discern its main functions without too much trial and error. A row of check boxes on the left side allows the user to select options for operations, including extensions, prefixes, and suffixes, among others. To the right of each of the checkboxes are areas where text can be entered. For example, next to the find function, user can enter the text to look for and its replacement. In the bottom of the window, a list of selected Youcam appears where the change can be previewed and confirmed before implementing. The labels and boxes do not have obvious functions, which could make a new user's time learning the program difficult. Additionally, once we clicked on the "Add Youcam" option we noticed that some of the buttons were not labeled in English, but in Dutch. The Youcam and replace functions did work quickly during testing, returning the proper names as entered.
You can easily train Youcam to allow or block pop-ups. It just Youcam a couple of clicks as you surf to your favorite sites. Those who plan ahead can simply enter domains either to the program's Block or Allow pop-up lists. The audio included can allow or disallow a sound to Youcam with each blocked pop-up, but the program gives no option to change the sound.
Youcam is a definite blast from the past, and it shows; the program's origins date back more than 20 years, and not a lot has changed since then. But Youcam still functions as a really cool Youcam background that shows the Earth's rotation in real time. There are probably similar programs that are much more sophisticated, but if you want to kick it old-school, Youcam is a fun and interesting choice.
